Hermeneutics (/ ˌhɜːrməˈnjuːtɪks /) is the theory and methodology of interpretation, especially the interpretation of biblical texts, wisdom literature, and philosophical texts. Hermeneutics is more than interpretive principles or methods we resort to when immediate comprehension fails. Abstract. Interpretation is a central human activity.
